Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike is a comedy by Christopher Durang that revolves around three middle-aged siblings, two of whom are single and live together in Bucks County, PA. Typically, an ordinary household is turned into an absolute upheaval when their third sibling Masha arrives for a surprise visit and brings her boy toy, Spike. The residents and visitors get caught up in a rowdy combination of competition, bitterness, and an unanticipated desire to break free.

The action of production was set on the porch of Vanya, Sonia, and Masha’s childhood home. It was essential to showcase the eloquence of Bucks County homes that the region is known for. I enjoyed building the garden bench out of scrap lumber in the scene shop.
