Abstract
The sci-fi horror musical Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour Krelborn, a shy orphan who is taken in to assist at the floral shop. Seymour spends his time doing dull responsibilities and fantasizing about his coworker, Audrey. One day, just after the sun's eclipse, Seymour finds a strange plant. Entranced by it, he purchases the plant and affectionately names it "Audrey II." Little does he know that this unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth, and a horrific appetite for human blood.
In this iconic musical, I wanted to take a cue from the story's foundation from the original sci-fi film and stray away from a cartoon quality. In reality, I felt that a base sets the tone for the message of greed in the musical.
