Designing the Red Line Café was an opportunity to explore the intersection of public space, storytelling, and transportation infrastructure. The concept reimagined a familiar urban environment—a commuter café tucked into a city train station—not just as a pit stop, but as a character of its own.
At the core of the design was a long, continuous red bench that snaked through the space like a rail line, connecting individual moments into a collective narrative. The architectural layout encouraged casual encounters and quiet observation, while bold, graphic signage paid homage to transit aesthetics and movement.
Warm tones contrasted with industrial textures, balancing functionality with a sense of place. Light filtered through translucent panels, echoing the rhythm of passing trains and reinforcing the café’s role as a transitional space between work, rest, and routine.
Through this project, I crafted an environment that invited reflection as much as refueling—a space where design quietly supported human connection. The Red Line Café became more than a set—it became a story told in pause, in transit, and in every person who passed through..
