For James Fritz's Parliament Square at the University of California, Irvine, my scenic design drew from the play’s themes of political protest and personal sacrifice. The central feature of the design was a circular stone path, symbolizing the repetitive cycles of societal struggle and the protagonist’s internal journey. Aged concrete textures dominated the set, reflecting Kat’s decaying faith in the world as her story unfolded. This minimalist yet symbolic approach created a stark, evocative environment that supported the play’s exploration of resilience, despair, and the cost of fighting for change.
