About
For American Idiot, I aimed to translate the raw, unfiltered energy of Green Day’s music into a scenic design that captures the intensity of urban and suburban life. The set features concrete structures and industrial elements, creating a stark environment that reflects the characters’ struggle for self-identity and escape. This minimalist design enhances the story’s themes of rebellion and transformation, immersing the audience in the gritty reality of the characters’ journeys as they confront the familiar world they seek to redefine.
