About
For The Glass Menagerie, I focused on capturing the delicate, memory-laden atmosphere of the Wingfield apartment. Inspired by Tennessee Williams’s vision, the walls were crafted from white scrim and steel, painted to resemble a solid structure but designed to fade away when Tom’s memories drift to the city beyond. This effect created a layered, dreamlike quality that mirrors the characters’ entrapment in the past and Tom’s yearning for freedom. The set shifts between the intimacy of the home and the stark reality of the city, intensifying the play’s themes of memory, illusion, and escape.
